In just her seventh outing as a professional Ystrad Mynach’s Lauren Price will challenge American Jessica McCaskill for the IBO, WBO and Ring Magazine Welterweight titles at the Utilita Arena, Cardiff on May 11th.

The Welsh Fighter will be stepping in there with the more experienced McCaskill, who has been Undisputed Champion at Welterweight before and has more World Title fights than Price has pro fights.
This will be Price’s first time returning back to Wales as a professional, before that move to the pro ranks Price claimed Gold at the Tokyo Olympic Games in 2020.
The American was set to travel to Zagreb, Croatia to fight her WBC mandatory challenger Ivana Habazin on April 20th but has opted against that to step in with Lauren Price and therefore has dropped her WBC belt.
McCaskill has fought the likes of Katie Taylor back in 2017 when she suffered a defeat and in 2022 she suffered another defeat to Chantelle Cameron when she attempted to become a two-weight World Champion.
If successful Lauren Price would become the 14th Welsh World Champion and also the first fighter from the GB Olympic squad from the Tokyo games to win a World Title.
